A Different Kind of Freedom

250 years of independence are worth celebrating.

And on a day like today, I keep thinking about a different kind of freedom.

The kind that shows up in everyday leadership, not just in history books.

The freedom to be yourself

The freedom to think for yourself.

To speak honestly.

To trust your own judgment even when others question it.

The freedom to stop chasing someone else's version of success and build something that actually fits who you are.

Freedom evolves over time

For most leaders, that freedom does not arrive all at once.

It comes from getting clearer about what matters, what doesn't, and finding the courage to make decisions that reflect that.

What I value most about freedom has shifted over the years.

Today, it looks less like having more options and more like having the confidence to choose my own path, even when it's not the obvious one.

That kind of freedom is worth protecting, too.

What's one freedom you appreciate more today than you did ten years ago?

Ready for your next step? It is waiting for you at the top of the page.
