CliftonStrengths®: Arranger® – What are you organizing?

by | Dec 16, 2018 | Strengths

CliftonStrengths® defines the Arranger® talent theme as people who “can organize, but they also have a flexibility that complements this ability. They like to determine how all of the pieces and resources can be arranged for maximum productivity.”

The conductor

This theme is often symbolized by the conductor of an orchestra or a juggler.

Now what you orchestrate or juggle can, again, vary; bottom line is that you have a talent for keeping many projects /tasks/events going at the same time.

For some, it could be one project where you have an eye on all moving parts and easily rearrange pieces or people as needed. For others, it could be multiple projects at once.

You manage projects easily

I’ve spent most of my day job career managing various events & projects, so it’s a talent that has been put to use daily. My Strategic® and Futuristic® have no doubt had a hand in this too. I often refer to what I do as my fruit basket as they all fall in different business areas. I’m definitely a jack of all trades.

I also use this theme when I’m rearranging the interiors of my home, whether I’m moving furniture around, getting new stuff, or simply painting a room or two. Moving is a breeze for me; I’m really thriving both in the packing and unpacking stage.

When managing all aspects of an event, you’ll intuitively know what to place where or in what order.

You easily sort and organize.

You shine when things change as you’re flexible and easily rearrange the pieces involved.

Chaos doesn’t deter you; rather, the opposite, you may quickly jump into the fire to sort it out and come up with new options, paths or partnerships, and last-minute solutions.

Finding a better way is always the target. Figuring out the best way is a given. The more complex the challenge is, the more you thrive when finding a better way.

For some of you, finding the perfect configuration is what’s at stake.

You’re happy on a team

Your natural knack for organization can help keep a group project on track.

You may also be a star at juggling schedules and people.

You need a dynamic environment. Being around people that resist change does not work for you.

You will look at how to best measure the progress of what is being created or how to best move forward in any given challenge.

You hunger to be efficient ongoingly. To increase your productivity.

You see what others can do easily

You intuitively know who to recruit and how to position each person. You enjoy positioning people for success with your ability to spot talent.

You have the ability to organize a team to achieve maximum efficiency and also the flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities.

Keep in mind that not all people thrive on constant change, so evaluate if a change is required if other people are involved.
