CliftonStrengths®: Significance® – Leaving a mark on this world

by | Apr 28, 2019 | Strengths

CliftonStrengths® defines this theme as people who “want to be very important in the eyes of others. They are independent and want to be recognized.”

The world is your stage

You are driven to impact people and want to leave a legacy on a large scale, think Mark Zuckerberg and what he has created with Facebook.

You’re motivated and influenced by the perception of others so what you choose to impact will vary. Impacting people as a group, community, and society as a whole is after all that you strive for.

You will create a stage, maybe even a virtual one, whether as a speaker, musician, or in media.

You stand out

You are willing to be and do what others are not. Whether it’s standing up for your team, a specific need in the world that needs to get highlighted or the planet as a whole.

For you, playing small is not an option. Your mission, whatever it may be keep you going. You also have a need to be recognized, heard, and valued.

You want to know that whatever you’re contributing to is seen as substantial, powerful, and significant.

Your game is par none

With your drive and yearning to be recognized, you will create something exceptional, and bring others with you in the process as you raise the bar for everyone involved.

You want more. You like to be seen. You’re driven to make a difference.

You need to have people around you that appreciate what you’re all about to bring out your best, and other successful people being one of them.

Independence drives you

While having the ability to impact and influence people on a large scale you also need the independence to do it your way.

Being in the spotlight comes naturally to you and you will speak and move the masses while doing so.

When you recognize others, you make them feel special and see their value as they often see you as someone who has something that they don’t. Unless that person has Significance® too.

Sharing your vision for what you are desiring to create is something you’ll do to keep the people around you enrolled, and will also inspire them to step up their game.

Do you have Significance® as one of your dominant talents? What legacy are you creating?
