Are you focusing on flaws or potential?
It is easy to get frustrated when people do not do things the way you would.
But what if, instead of focusing on what is missing, you leaned into what is already there. Their natural strengths.
Flaws, much like beauty, are often in the eye of the beholder.
We all have preferences. But at the end of the day, what truly drives results?
Shift the lens
One of the reasons I love a talent focused approach is the shift that happens when we stop trying to fix people and start working with who they naturally are.
Start with awareness
What energizes you?
What drains you?
How often do you prioritize the work that actually lights you up?
When you play to your strengths, even the less exciting tasks become easier to move through.
If you can delegate them, even better. If not, they become more manageable when balanced with work that energizes you.
What this looks like in real life
For me, that meant adding projects like design and coaching alongside my core role.
The “boring” work took up less space, and I stayed in growth mode.
Now imagine leading your team this way.
Encouraging them to tap into their strengths while still hitting their targets.
What is one way you can lean into your strengths, or help your team do the same, this week?
