Weekly Reset Habit

by Pia Jansson | Jan 12, 2025 | Leadership

It is easy to keep moving, checking things off, and staying busy. But that does not always mean you are moving in the right direction.

One of the most overlooked leadership habits is reflection. Not because it is difficult, but because it is easy to skip.

Make time to reflect

Set aside time weekly to pause and look at what is actually happening. Reflection helps you recognize wins, uncover patterns, and see what may be getting in your way.

It does not have to be complicated. A few intentional minutes can shift how you lead your entire week.

When reflection gets skipped

When things get busy, reflection is often the first thing to go. That is when leadership becomes more reactive, and decisions are made in the moment instead of with clarity.

Over time, that can create drift. You are working hard, but not always moving in the direction you actually want.

A simple way to start

At the end of the week, ask yourself a few questions.

What worked? What felt off? What do I want to do differently next week?

A question to take with you

What is one insight from this past week that you do not want to ignore?

If things feel slightly off or unclear, reflection is often where the shift begins.
