What are you selling?

… and how are you expressing it?

I have spent more than 25 years working with “professional” salespeople, many of whom have no clue. So what am I talking about?

Do you think sales are only for the “professional” salespeople?

To me, life is a game of sales, selling, or enrolling you to take action and invest in something. What? Yes, and here is why. Think of someone that sold you something professionally that they were really good at. Now think of a close friend that you really love being with. What do the two of them have in common? Is it what they do, how they dress, who they are “being” – how you feel when you’re with them or a combination? What makes you say yes?

We all look to create different experiences on this journey called life, and the intentions and targets vary, so what do they have in common? Is it that you want to be with them, that they have the “it” factor, whatever that may be? Do you connect and see yourself in them? Or are they selling a product that you love? Are they happy, fun, and easy to be around? Or is it that they show an interest in you?

I buy when someone believes in the product they sell and is not there to convince me. When you get the “I want what they have” vibe. It’s often magical, charismatic, happy, authentic, and no bs type of people offering a product that matches the energy of what I am looking for and where it’s expansive and a contribution to my life and living. What is it for you?

Two questions that you can ask are “If I do/buy this, what will my life look like in a year, 3 years, 5 years?” and “If I do not do/buy this, what will my life look like in a year, 3 years and 5 years?”.

And then there’s how we “package” ourselves. Did you know that there are colors that you can wear that enhance not only how you feel but also how people see you, where you can still be fashionable? Cool huh?

What if you wore the colors of your essence in styles that flatter your body & being (independent of weight)? What if you could communicate who you truly are without uttering a word? What would it look or be like if your outside coloring and style matched the energy of what’s on the inside of you? That’s what sold me on Jennifer Butler Colors , and I’ve explored that growth area for the past 10+ years.

It’s an ongoing process to refine what that looks like for you, especially if you are a person like me who loves to grow and with a body shape that fluctuates, which results in different choices on what to wear. I find it to be a very empowering and playful approach to choosing what to wear and express yourself as in the world, in fabrics that feel yummy for me to wear and colors that complement different aspects of me.

Thoughts to ponder
  • What side of your personality are you looking to express?
  • What are you looking to create in your life right now?
  • What would you like to communicate about yourself and your message?
  • Would wearing colors that make you feel great be a contribution to your life?
  • What is your awareness?
